The U.S. is one of the world’s major producers and exporters of IT services. Some of the biggest high-tech companies have their headquarters in the States and it is a known fact that they are constantly recruiting skilled specialists. It is expected, thus, that this sector is in continuous expansion.
Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the technology industry in the United States added more than 32,000 new jobs last month and is outpacing the overall national employment rate. Except for technology manufacturing, every category in the IT field is growing in terms of employment, encouraged by strong demand for digital transformation technologies. IT services account for most of the jobs, at 56 percent, whereas custom software development services, such as website design, cover the difference. A previous report had shown that 2004 and 2014, the number of jobs in software grew by 39 percent.
According to IT professionals, software and IT services jobs are expected to outpace the overall tech industry.
