The B-1/B-2 is a visa for people traveling to the US for business, medical treatment, or leisure. Below are the steps to get the B-1/B-2 visitor visa:
Step 1: Be sure to find and understand your visa type because each visa has different eligibility criteria and application requirements. Pick the visa type that is suitable for your purpose of visit.
Step 2: Fill out the DS-160 form after reading the guidelines carefully. Make sure all information filled out in the form is accurate and true because once you submit the form, you cannot amend the information.
Step 3: After filling and submitting the DS-160 form, you are required to pay the specified visa fee. Be sure to read the bank and payment options page before paying your visa fee. Do retain the receipt number because you would need that to book your visa appointment.
Step 4: In this step, you must log into your online profile by using the login information you used to pay your visa fee. Once logged in, access the Schedule Appointment on the dashboard and schedule two appointments – one for the Visa Application Center (VAC) and the other for the visa interview at the US Embassy or Consulate.
Step 5: During the VAC appointment, be sure to have a valid passport, your DS-160 confirmation page, and the appointment confirmation page, besides a photo if the applicant is aged below 14 years. If the applicant is less than 14 years old, any of his/her parents or guardians can attend the VAC appointment and visa interview on his/her behalf.
Step 6: After the VAC appointment, you will be required to visit the US Embassy or Consulate for the visa interview. During the interview, you would need a copy of your appointment letter, the DS-160 confirmation page, your passports (new and old), and any other relevant document.
