One of the most common ways to get a Green Card or else known as a permanent resident card, is through employment. The employment category itself contains a various sub-categories of employees. One of the most common one is the Domestic employees and unskilled labor form through which a person can apply for a green card.

In order to apply for this Green Card, the Domestic workers and unskilled laborers need to be sponsored by an employer. The employee should have an active job offer and also be qualified and experienced enough to be able to perform unskilled labor which is not on a temporary basis. In order to qualify and apply for a green card under this category, first the applicant (employer) should have filed for and also got an approved Labor Certification Application.

Every applicant may fill their application which will be approved by the Department of Labor. After getting the certification, they are officially valuable applicants for the job that is being offered by the U.S. employer and that there have been no U.S. workers who were willing to take up this job.

After getting the certification, the applicant has to wait for the visa to become available. If you are a domestic worker or other “unskilled” laborer you are eligible to apply and become a permanent resident by applying for a Green Card for Domestic Employee or Unskilled Labor Applicant.
