Almost 200.000 Chinese students have chosen the U.S. universities to complete their education. Due to the massive number of scholars coming from mainland China, along with other countries which are sending thousands of students to the United States, for the first time in 11 years the number of international undergraduates is higher than the number of U.S. graduate students.
According to a recent report from the Institute of International Education, the Chinese appetite for American degrees is well known among international recruiters, who have focused a large share of their efforts in this direction. Some universities are creating special programs, molded on their specific academic needs. In order to offer a complete and rewarding experience in the U.S., colleges are also developing off-campus services such as extracurricular activities and academic advising.
In return, Chinese students will bring home valuable language skills, as well as an important educational background that can help them get a high-paying job in their home country.
