Best school districts in the U.S.

13871237_sWith the new academic year recently started, it’s not a bad idea to take a look at the best school districts in the U.S. The ranking is based on academics, teachers, resources and facilities for students, extracurricular activities, health and safety and student culture and diversity. Those who live and study in New York and Pennsylvania are in luck, because most of the school districts in our list are located in these two states.

Edgemont Union Free School District, in Greenburgh Town, New York, has managed to get straight A’s for academics, student culture, resources and facilities and the overall learning experience. The district does not have many students enrolled, but they are doing very well at school. On the SAT’s, the average scores are 670 in Math, 650 in Reading and 680 in Writing.

Jericho Union Free School District, in Oyster Bay Town, New York, has 3.052 students (K-12). 76% of them are proficient in reading and math. They receive an average score of 29 on the American College Testing (ACT).

According to students and parents in Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania, the Tredyffrin-Easttown School District offers an excellent learning experience. 90% of 6.487 students are proficient in math and reading.

Lower Merion School District, in Lower Merion Township, Pennsylvania offers great facilities and resources. From a total of 7.800 students (K-12), 92 percent are proficient in reading and math. Moreover, they receive an average score of 30 on the ACT. Not bad at all, considering that the maximum score is 36.

Scarsdale Union Free School District, in Scarsdale, New York has received a great academics grade and has excellent resources and facilities. 72 % of the 4.740 students (K-12) are proficient in math and reading. They receive an average score of 31 on the American College Testing.

Students from the Dresden School District, in Hanover Town, New Hampshire say that the overall learning experience is outstanding. 87 percent of the 935 students (6-12) are proficient in reading and math.

There are 8.190 students in the North Allegheny School District, in McCandless Township, Pennsylvania. 89% of them are proficient in reading and math.
