A recent study available through the Beer Distributors of Massachusetts points out that the local beer distribution industry supports 2,200 jobs in the state. If we are to count beer-related jobs such as those in brewing or marketing and promotional activities, the number springs to 41,000 jobs.
According to the Brewers Association, more than 60 breweries operate in Massachusetts and they produce around 400,000 barrels of craft beer every year. This quantity places the state on the 14th place among the highest-volume beer producers in the U.S. As you can already grasp, the beer industry is one of the most lucrative in Massachusetts, bringing more than $5 billion each year to the state’s economy, the new Beer Serves America economic impact report shows.
